Why do you require 7+ families on the roster?
The 7-family requirement helps us verify that there's only one camera per team, which is how we keep our pricing so affordable. When families share the cost burden, everyone pays less than traditional filming services. It also ensures there's enough interest on the team to make the service valuable for everyone.
What is the one camera per team policy?
Each team can only have ONE Trace camera. This policy is essential to our business model - it prevents individuals from monopolizing equipment and keeps prices low for everyone. If multiple cameras were allowed per team, we'd have to significantly increase prices. You CAN use your camera across multiple teams you coach, but each team needs 7+ families on their roster.
What happens if we don't reach 7 families by game 5?
After your 5th recorded game, if you haven't added 7+ families to your roster, video access (highlights and full-game playback) will be locked for everyone on the team. Live streaming will still work if available. As soon as you add the 7th family, access is restored and all previous games become viewable again.
Do families have to pay to be on the roster?
No! Joining the roster is completely FREE. Families can watch live streams and receive notifications at no cost. They only pay if they want PlayerFocus subscriptions for full-game playback, personal highlights, and PlayerCam features. There's no obligation for anyone to purchase.
Why does the camera ship after requirements are met?
We want to ensure teams are set up for success before shipping expensive equipment. By confirming you have 7+ families ready to participate, we know your team will have uninterrupted access to videos and the service will provide value to multiple families, not just one.
How does the free Year 2 camera work?
If you maintain 7 or more PlayerFocus subscriptions on your team throughout Year 1, your $95 camera lease fee is waived for Year 2. This rewards successful teams and makes the long-term cost even more affordable for dedicated teams.
What if some families can't afford subscriptions?
That's okay! Families can join the roster for free and still watch live streams at no cost. Only families who want full features need to subscribe. The 7-family roster requirement is just about having families on the roster, not about them all purchasing subscriptions.
Can I use the camera for multiple teams?
Yes! One camera can be used across multiple teams you manage. However, each team must maintain its own roster of 7+ families to keep video access unlocked. This is allowed because you're still maintaining the one-camera-per-team rule for each individual team.
