The Trace AI is optimized for regulation soccer, but it can also be used to record other sports like basketball, hockey, volleyball, and more. While the AI is currently trained to identify soccer-specific actions, here’s how you can still make the most of your Trace camera for other sports:
Basketball, Hockey, Volleyball, or Other Game Setup
Center the camera for full-court coverage: Ensure your Trace camera is positioned to capture the entire playing area. Make sure there are no obstacles between the camera and the court.
Choose PlayerFocus or Training Session:
Choose PlayerFocus to automatically follow game action. Since the AI is optimized for soccer, you may miss some plays, but footage will be delivered automatically edited for individual players.
Choose Training session for a full width fixed recording without player highlights.
What to Expect from PlayerFocus AI
Soccer Tags in Highlights: If you use PlayerFocus to record your game, the highlights returned will be tagged for soccer (e.g., "Goals" or "Saves"). While these won’t align with your specific sport, they can still help you locate key moments.
Player Highlights: PlayerFocus AI will create highlight playlists for every player detected on the field, for both the home and away team.
Why Use Trace for Other Sports?
While Trace's AI isn’t optimized for basketball, hockey, lacrosse, field hockey, flag football, or volleyball yet, the camera’s high-quality footage and intuitive PlayerFocus AI still make it a valuable tool for capturing full games or practices.
