Trace Case Setup FAQs


Note: Before you begin your upload, check your case for turf pellets or other debris. If there is debris near any of your connections, the upload may be interrupted.

Can I upload from a Hotel?

Unfortunately no, The Trace Case is unable to connect to hotel networks because of their security settings. We recommend waiting until you are home to upload. For information on how to backup your games while traveling, check out the Travel FAQ.

Why does Trace not work on unsupported networks?

The Trace system can only connect to networks that do not require extra layers of security. Hotels and Schools tend to have additional layers of security that don’t allow the case and camera to connect. Hotspots tend to become throttled and not receive fast enough speeds for the case to upload.

Do I have to connect my case every time I upload?

No. You only need to connect your case to wifi if you are uploading from a new place or your wifi password changes.

My home network isn’t showing up in the list of wifi networks. What do I do?

If you don’t see your network on the list, you can scroll to the bottom of the list, select “+ Add” and type in your network’s name and password.
