How is paddling measured?

Ano Nymouse Jun 10, 2016 12:32AM EDT

Is Trace able to determine if a surfer is paddling against a sweep?

I would also like to have more details included in the session stats. For example, the total duration of a surf session. One could catch a dozen waves in a short time, or spend hours paddling hard against a strong sweep to hold position, but catch very few waves.

If no waves are caught at all, will Trace record a surf session?

Great questions!

Trace measure paddling by a specific movement of the board. So we know the difference, for example, between paddling, drifting (with the current), and just laying in place.

When you pull up on the Visit Details page, you'll be able to see the Start Time of a session and the End Time of a session which will give you total duration.
