Manually Loading New Firmware

Last Updated: Sep 02, 2016 03:36PM EDT
1. Make sure your Trace is off, and plug your Trace in to your computer with the USB cable provided. Your Trace should power up automatically and after a few seconds of initializations, settle on a solid green or blinking green.

2a - Windows. Open up Windows Explorer and navigate to the mounted drive called Trace. See the picture below.

2b - Mac. Open up Finder on your mac and navigate to the mounted Drive called Trace. See the picture below.

3. Drag the "firmware.bin" or "firmware205.bin" (depending on which firmware you were provided) to the Trace device and wait for the file to copy. If you get a message that there is already a file called firmware.bin, chose to overwrite it.

4. After you are done copying, right click on the drive in Explorer or Finder and eject the drive.

5. Turn your Trace on by holding the power button on the right hand side. After a short power up sequence, you should see a solid yellow light. Your new firmware should now be loaded.

To manually update your Trace, please write in to support@TraceUp.com and we'll send you the files that you need. Thanks!
